Corsages for Prom Night

Corsages for prom are one of those little things that make one of the most memorable nights of your life perfect. The right corsage can compliment your dress, your hair, your skin and make you glitter in the spotlight. Indulge into the beauty of prom night and enjoy the ride.

The types of prom corsages

The three main types of corsages for prom are:

  • Wrist corsage
  • Pin-on corsage
  • Hand-held corsage

The obvious difference is how you will wear it. Wrist corsages are strapped to the wrist and they should be placed there firmly enough not to fall down during the evening. In reality you still have to be careful not to make any fast or awkward moves with your hand so you do not damage it.

Pin-on corsages for prom are pinned on your prom dress. This is best done by a florist or someone who has done this before. If you are not careful doing this, your corsage may look strange or in the worst case scenario you might even damage the dress or the flowers.

Hand-held corsage is not fastened to anything. You have to hold it in your hand, but you can also put it down whenever you wish.

What you need to know when you go buying a corsage is the type and the color of the dress. Without these information the florist cannot do a good job. Depending on the type of dress is the type of corsage (pin-on, hand-held, wrist) and depending on the color of the dress are the flowers and possible add-ons.

If you already have decided what kind of corsages for prom you prefer, this is great. But still stay open-minded and listen to the advice of the florists. They have a lot of experience and will tell what looks good in combination with your dress, your hair, your shoes and what does not work.

The tradition of prom corsages

Corsages for PromCorsages were used a lot more frequently in the past, they were used for a number of events and celebrations. In the last decades the number of such occasions has fallen but corsages for prom have remained as a cherished tradition.
